2 looks 1 palette: urban decay naked ultraviolet eyeshadow palette

Has the Urban Decay Naked Ultraviolet Eyeshadow Palette been sitting in your online shopping cart? Is it on your wish list? Have you been wondering how it performs? The latest release from Urban Decay has certainly been making waves. Some beauty lovers adore it and others have mixed feelings. Personally, this palette has been on my latest list of loves. Mostly because of the exciting colour story. Essentially, I see the Ultraviolet palette as being split into two halves. The first is all about warm neutrals and the second half is loaded with gorgeous purple shades. In the middle there are two holographic shades to round it all out. With a mixture of matte, shimmer, glitter, and holographic eyeshadows...this eyeshadow palette has a little bit of everything going on. (In case you missed it, be sure to check out my full review of the Urban Decay Naked Ultraviolet Eyeshadow Palette.) With two very different colour stories, it only made sense to create two different makeup looks.

One look at the eyeshadow palette (pictured above) and you can see the two colour stories described. The left side is all about warm neutrals, there are two unique holographic shades smack dab in the middle, and then on the right side, there are purples of all different colours and finishes. The way this particular Naked palette was set up inspired me to create another 2 Look 1 Palette post here on the creation of beauty is art. The first look made use of those glittery peachy colours and the second look embraced all things purple. Ready to see how they turned out? Here goes....

Makeup Look #1: Shimmery Peach

The first makeup look embraced warm peachy tones found in the palette. I started by applying that soft matte brown shade, Hacked, all over the lid. Then I used the light peach matte shade, Mind Slip, to blend out the edges. On the lid itself, I patted Dazed, a shimmery warm peach all over the lid, and added a bit of the warm glitter, V.R. on the outer portion of the lid for a little extra shimmer and shine. Along the lower lash line, I used Dazed, with that bright golden shade, Trippin' in the inner corner and underneath the brow bone. Then it was a bit of my Paris Hilton Cosmetics pen eyeliner, a bit of Cover Girl mascara, and the eyes were complete. I used a Revlon lip liner and gloss on the lips and the blush, bronzer, and power my The Emily Edit face palette, The Needs. That was it! This makeup look was simple, warm, and easy to wear.

Makeup Look #2: Purple All Over

I am not afraid of purple. Not even a little bit. Though I tend to get a good amount of use from that warm neutrals side, there have been many occasions where the purple section of this palette has piqued my interest. It is just so fun and colourful. To create the look shown above, I started by applying Warning all over the lid. Then I used the light purple shade, Optimized on the inner portion of the lid, and created a smokey finish by dabbing Purple Dust to the outer corner and along the lower lash line. It was simple and yet oh-so-dramatic. For the rest of the makeup look, I used a Paris Hilton Cosmetics eyeliner to create a winged look and added on a coat of Cover Girl mascara. On the cheeks, I used a warm blush from Kylie Cosmetics and a liquid highlight from Wet n Wild. Then for that dramatic purple lip, I used Coven from KVD. It really pulled it all together.

It was a lot of fun playing around with the new Urban Decay Naked Ultraviolet Eyeshadow Palette. And this is only the beginning! I know this eyeshadow palette will continue to inspire many looks to come.

Which makeup look do you like best? Have you tried this Urban Decay eyeshadow palette?
