Glitter is always a good idea. That is something that I have said time and time again...because it's true! Glitter has a way of making everything more beautiful. It adds an unexpected dose of fun to whatever it encounters. When it comes to makeup and beauty products, glitter is even more fabulous. Though some people prefer matte shades, my world is at least 99% glitter on a good day. Which is why it was extra exciting to be able to test and try a set of five different glitter eyeliners. The Glamorous & Sparkly Eye Collection from Lise Watier was an unexpected and exciting birthday gift. With five different glitters to put to use, it was hard to know where to start. Eventually, I made a decision! Ready to see how it turned out? Here is a recent makeup look that I created using some of the glitters from this oh-so-sparkly set.
First thing is first....what is included in this Lise Watier set? According to the brand, it comes with five eye glitter liners with a high-precision brush that "delivers a perfectly fine line for a long-lasting, impeccable look." The five glitters include Night Magic (dark blue), Opale (white), Amethyste (purple), Silver Star (silver) and Smokey Gold (gold). There are four minis and one full-sized glitter to use and enjoy. These glitters claim to be smudge-proof and have a long-lasting water-based formula. The colours included in this set are beautiful and offer a lot of variety. There are some holiday-centric colours, like the gold, white, and silver...but there are also some fall and winter appropriate colours with the inclusion of the deep purple and that icy blue.
These glitters were described as glitter eyeliners, so I decided to create a look that would allow that glitter to shine. I kept the eyeshadow ultra simple, with a cream shade on the lid and a warm brown blended through the crease. At first, I tried to use the glitter as a standalone liner, but there simply wasn't enough pigmentation for that use. Ultimately, I ended up using a black liquid eyeliner and then layered the Night Magic (dark blue) glitter on top. It took two layers of the glitter to achieve best results. Though it didn't show all that well in the picture (seen above)…in person, the end result was really sparkly and fun. To finish off this glittery look, I used a peach-toned blush and a simple rose-tinted gloss balm.
In terms of the performance of these glitters? I like them a lot. They can be worn layered over top of a liner to create an ultra glittery finish. Or they can be worn on top of eyeshadow for a glitter eye look that looks gorgeous and doesn't crease. These are versatile and so gorgeous. That being said, none of these glitter liners will make much of an impact worn alone as an eyeliner. (Unless you feel like building up layer after layer after layer after layer of product.) They are less liners and more glitter add-ons, in my opinion. All of the colours are beautiful and will definitely be used a lot this holiday season.
All in all, this is a wonderful holiday themed set that can quickly and easily add an extra dose of glitz and glitter to a makeup look. I'm excited to incorporate it into many of my seasonal creations.
Have you tried these Lise Watier glitters? Do you like glittery makeup looks?
