skin care week: laneige kiss me at midnight set (review)

Hydration matters. As someone with dry skin, many of my favourite skin care products are lotions, moisturizers, and anything that adds extra hydration. Which is why it has been so exciting to put the Laneige Kiss Me At Midnight set to good use. Hydrated lips are essential. This three-piece set includes three different versions of the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. Now, the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is something that I have reviewed before. (In case you missed it, that review can be found here.) And quite frankly, I absolutely loved the lip mask. How does this set compare? Does Laneige continue to exceed my expectations? The Kiss Me At Midnight set from Laneige included three different versions of the Lip Sleeping Mask (there are eight in total, according to the Sephora website). One is a full-sized version with 0.70 oz. of product and the other two are smaller with 0.10 oz. of product. This particular set came with:

• Lip Sleeping Mask in Berry (full-size)
• Lip Sleeping Mask in Mint Choco (mini)
• Lip Sleeping Mask in Sweet Candy (mini)

When it comes to the formula, these all perform the same as the initial Lip Sleeping Mask that I reviewed. They add a lot of moisture and the lip masks are the perfect addition to my evening routine. The mask itself is somewhat thick, hydrating, and leaves you with perfectly moisturized lips by morning. It is a must have for me! What differentiates this particular set are the different scents. The full-sized version has a soft berry scent. It is pleasant but light. The mint choco smells exactly like you would expect. It smells like a delicious bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream. 

Then there is my personal favourite of the three. Sweet candy smells very sweet but not so much like candy. It reminds me of the old Bonne Bell Lip Smackers. It instantly takes me back in a very nostalgic way. Of the three, Sweet Candy definitely has the strongest scent. So it might not be up your alley if you don't like products that are overly scented. For me? Sweet candy stands out in a wonderful way. It makes me smile and reminds me of simpler times.

Not all skin care products are fun and exciting. In fact, most of them take an awfully long time to show results. Thankfully, the Laneige Lip Sleeping Masks deliver immediate hydration and smell absolutely fabulous. They are a wonderful way to take care of your skin and boost your mood. The only downside? These products aren't exactly low cost. A full-size version of the Lip Sleeping Mask costs $26 CDN. So it really depends on what you need.
