Themed makeup is always hard to resist. Especially when that theme involves animals and glamour! The Too Faced Enchanted Wonderland holiday set had all of that and so much more. It included three separate mini palettes (with bejeweled animals on the front of each) and a mini mascara. Compact and cute...and wonderfully whimsical...the Enchanted Wonderland release was truly something special. Want to take a look inside? Find out how each of these items perform? This Too Faced set was given to me as a Christmas gift...and I have been putting it to good use since then! It has been a lot of fun to familiarize myself with each of these mini palettes. As you can see from the picture above, the palettes are absolutely adorable. Each one has a picture of an animal on the front, wearing some fabulous accessory or another. There is the Deer Palette, Swan Palette, and Racoon Palette as well as a holiday themed Better Than Sex mascara. According to various online retailers, the set was priced at $52 CDN. For three palettes and a bonus mascara? Not bad at all.
Mini Review: Racoon Palette
Mini Review: Swan Palette
This was probably the palette in the set that I was most excited for. Why? The outer packaging had a swan and there were lots of gorgeous pink-toned shades inside. Like the previous palette, this contains a blush and highlight. The blush (Secret Santa) is my favourite in the Enchanted Wonderland Set. It is a warm matte pink that is perfect for the winter season. The highlight (Fine Cone) is a beautiful shimmery golden-pink highlight. As for the eyeshadows, there are some hits (Break The Ice, December 25th, All The Gifts, and Under The Tree) and some misses (Turtle Doves and Miss Kringle). The fact that Miss Kringle...that intense pink shimmer...had limited payoff was super disappointing. It looked so bright and bold in the pan. Alas! At least there were a lot of excellent shadows in the Swan Palette to make up for it.
Mini Review: Deer Palette
The last of the mini palettes is the Deer Palette. This one is definitely well suited to evening (or ultra dramatic) looks. Unlike the last two palettes, this particular set doesn't have a highlight. Instead, there is a warn and wearable matte blush (Christmas Morning) and a bronzer (Fruit Cake). Personally, the bronzer works better as a blush for me...but it will really depend on your skin tone. For the eyeshadow shades, there were some winners (Angel Wings, Ding Dong, 100% That Grinch, All The Jingle Ladies, and Down The Chimney) and one miss (Baby, It's Cold). The latter isn't bad. This holographic shade just falls a little flat compared to some other holographic eyeshadows from Too Faced. Overall, this is my favourite mini palette. Some of the shadows are intense in the best possible way!
Mini Review: Better Than Sex Mascara
I am no stranger to the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. Probably because they include it in just about every Too Faced holiday release! Though this time, they spiced it up a bit. Instead of the regular old pink tube...this tube had snowflakes all over it. Definitely fit in well with the holiday theme. This little detail feels so fun and festive. As for the mascara itself, this works well and is one of my favourite high-end mascaras. It was definitely nice to have a mini version on hand.
Too Faced has done it again. The Enchanted Wonderland Collection is an impressive holiday release. The theme is adorable, there is a wide variety of products to put to good use, and the overall quality is solid. These mini palettes have certainly been keeping me cheery this month.
