These days, it is much harder to be stylish. Especially as a celebrity! There aren't as many reasons to go out anymore. No premieres, no photoshoots, and no reason to get your glam on. Despite that, stars like Gabrielle Union are still finding ways to shine. She recently stepped out for dinner in West Hollywood wearing lots and lots of animal prints. Since fashion is something that I have been missing lately (thanks pandemic for making most days ultra casual) it seemed only right to feature this look in a love it or leave it? post. So...let's take a peek at this glamorous evening look and decide if it is love or a leave.
What I Love: I have to say... I am a sucker for animal prints. They always look so gorgeous and glamorous. Especially on someone as stunning as Gabrielle Union! That dress is so beautiful. I love the soft and flowing fabric, the warm colours, the print, the neckline, and the long sleeves. It is a little bit fall and a little bit summer. She looks absolutely incredible. I also love the thoughtfulness to incorporate animal print into the mask she wore as well. (Crazy that those are the details that we have to think about in 2020!) Other aspects of this outfit that I love? That simple black clutch, the open toed shoes, and the simple earrings. None of the accessories clash or compete with that bold print. It creates such a wonderful and balanced look.
What I Loathe: This is truly an incredible outfit. Gabrielle looks fabulous! That being said, there is one piece that doesn't quite work for me: the belt. While I think the dress benefits from having a belt, I don't love that particular belt. It pulls focus from that gorgeous dress. It works to add shape but the lighter colour is somewhat distracting. Something simple and black (like all of her other accessories) would've made this outfit perfect from head to toe.
Overall, this is a love for me. Though the belt wasn't the perfect choice, Gabrielle Union looks absolutely incredible. The animal print is beautiful, the dress has stunning details, and those black accessories are excellent additions.
