Christmas Eve is here again. Though Christmas Day is always special...my favourite day of the year is Christmas Eve. It is a time of togetherness and tradition. At this point, all of the decorations have been put out and the wrapping has been completed. That means one thing: baking. Christmas Eve is definitely a time of preparation. My mom and I usually spend the day baking and decorating cookies, making rice krispie squares, and decorating a gingerbread house. Then we watch some of our favourite Christmas movies, "Christmas with the Kranks," "Christmas Vacation," and "Just Friends." They have all become Christmas Eve traditions. Speaking of traditions, the latest question in the Christmas advent relates to a tradition that makes me smile.
What Do You Like to Eat on Christmas Eve?
It has become a tradition. Every Christmas Eve, once all of the baking has been finished and the finishing touches have been completed...my brother orders pizza from a nearby restaurant. He picks it up and then we all enjoy our meal while watching a Christmas movie. After that, we drive around and look at all of the lights on the houses in the neighbourhood. Though things might be slightly different this year (with a pizza in the oven instead of take out), that meal together always feels perfect. It is a wonderful way to wind down from all of the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and simply breathe easy.
What about you? What do you like to eat on Christmas Eve?
